2009 Fargo Moorhead Flood

in 2009, the Red River overflowed its banks in a flood that would prove to be the greatest since record-keeping began.

The 2009 flood crest was predicted to happen on March 29th at 43 feet. Instead, it crested at 40.8 feet on March 28th, the same day these high water photos were taken. Photos at normal river levels in the summer of 2015 are included for comparison. Photos taken from the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Moorhead.
